Summary
It all started in freshman year when Morella chose him as a friend, and Lenore happened to be there. Then it continued when Lenore found other instrumentalists. Then it still continued when the band moved on and Pluto chose to stay behind. He has to take care of his father. After all, who'd take care of him other than Pluto?
He smiles, and texts, and stays in touch. He works and cleans and covers bruises left behind. He smells of alcohol and cigarettes, and his hands are calloused. He's quiet, and he smiles, and he's so, so polite.
Then, he's invited out to their tour finale, and suddenly, it feels like he's back in high school with all this goddamn multitasking.

Chase prints out a webcomic and staples it all together to create a book, then decides that's his choice of book for the day.
That webcomic is Nevermore.
This is mostly just to see if comics will work, but also for fun. He's never read it before, but he enjoys the art style and thinks it will be nice to do.or
Chase does his usual thing and does not read a book before entering it and is somewhat weirded out by the plot. Buddy is exasperated the entire time, same for Deacon. Prunella is just grumpy that Chase is too blond.

Summary
Lenore always believed that her quiet little town, lost among dense forests and forever covered in a thick fog, was the last place where something really sinister could happen. As an investigative reporter for a local newspaper on the verge of bankruptcy, her routine consisted of covering bakery openings and pumpkin pie contests.
But everything changed when a series of macabre murders shook the town - each victim found in public places, arranged in ritualistic positions, with strange marks carved into their skin and, always, a dead crow carefully left beside them. The police, perplexed, found no clues. The population, previously asleep in the safety of routine, was plunged into panic. Despite his lightheartedness, Duke was notoriously meticulous. His notebook was impeccable, filled with precise diagrams and detailed observations, and he had an almost intuitive gift for finding promising excavation sites, as if he could sniff out the past beneath the cracked earth.
“Don't flirt with a fossilized bone in front of me, Duke. Please,” Galinda joked, crouching down beside him.
“Mon cher, can't you read the mood?” he snorted, feigning theatrical indignation. “I was about to ask her out!”
Galinda let out a brief laugh, muffled by the heat and dust suspended in the air. With her hands on her hips, she looked at him with feigned seriousness. “You say that about every fossil you find. Last week you swore that tibia gave you a seductive look.”
“She did!” Duke retorted, pointing with the handle of his brush at the spot where the piece lay. “Too bad it was a hadrosaur. A long-distance relationship wouldn't work.”
“Let me know when you find a fossil that prefers silence to flirting. I think it'll be the first.”

“Ehem…do you mind finding another seat?” Her posh accent whispered, sounding ever so polite while impolitely booting her desk mate.
“Yeah I’m not thrilled about it either but all the others are taken.” Lenore rolled her eyes, obviously annoyed at Annabel's fake niceness. “I may not be your cuppa tea,” a condescending smile formed as she mocked the blonde girl's accent. “But I pay for these classes the same as you so I’m going to try and focus on the lecture. K?” She huffed and turned towards the front.
“K” Annabel mocked in her head whilst silently fuming.
