The last I heard the princess of the whirlpool ocean and pink sand died by their beloved fox’s own claws. ‘Sigh’ monsters in their own right, savages, rabid animals that took three nations just to put a dent in their numbers. People say the clan is dead, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. These are the people that were able to summon the Death Reaper multiple times and not die. The Uzumaki are not people, not even human, all of them tailless tailed beast, even the children. So listen to me little Genins, ‘Never lose sight of a Uzumaki while in battle. In which Kurama decides to just get on with it and give Naruto everything at once, because fuck being stuck in a sewer for eighty plus more years. In which Naruko realizes that maybe accepting a deal with a fox that was probably a hallucination inside of a dream sewer might have been a dumb idea.
In which Naruko becoming a nine tailed fox girl has consequences, a ripple effect, and also comes with apparently her entire graduating class doing so as girls. In which Hiruzen decides sending preteens out to die might be a bad idea, and so institutes a few extra years of ninja training as an experiment.
In which all of this is a shameless excuse for polyamory, lesbianism, genderbending, kemonomimi, and references to other fics and media properties. As a joke.

I sigh deeply, almost dramatically. I’m not trying to draw Naruto’s attention. I’m trying to draw Sasuke’s. I’ve more or less deduced this Naruto’s stance on the matter and trying to appeal to him with emotion or logic won’t work. Sasuke would have gone for a balanced approach. Which would be even worse.
“You,” I say, pointing at Naruto. “You’re a fake. Where’s the real Naruto?”
I’m mostly unconvinced of the statement I’ve just spewed.
No. What I’ve just said is pure nonsense.
“Now, now, Shikamaru-san,” Naruto says, a close-lipped smile on his face. He finally turns his head towards me, his eyes coloured with exaggerated warmth. “Your accusation really hurts me, you know? I am the real Naruto. More real than you’d ever dare to see.”
