Summary
It's the universe's way of repaying back the times when Mechaman had beat impossible odds in his fights. Robert just wished it was anything but this.
Or; Robert the dispatcher is too charming and easily snatchable by villains, much to Z-Team's exasperation.

Summary
Robert's want to keep Beef safe and his injuries keep him from going back to field work. Not that it works as another villain uses Beef against Robert, but he was safe at the end of the day. Then the next day, Beef is no longer just a cute little corgi, but a cute kid instead?
He hardly knows how to care for himself and now he has to care for a whole ass human child too? Luckily, he knows someone who has some experience with dealing with a kid.

Summary
If there was one thing Robert Robertson III was good at, it was speaking to people. A lifetime of presenting himself to the media—of bearing his soft underbelly to its criticism—had honed his ability to talk into a well-oiled machine, one he could readily adjust to each scenario he found himself in. He could be clever, witty, sympathetic—all at the drop of a hat.
It was a useful skill, and one that he found himself relying on quite a lot following the destruction of his suit. He had to make do with what he could still manage. This is why—when SDN internally started to refer to him as “the speech guy”—he didn’t protest the title too much. There were worse things to be known for; sweet-talking wasn’t all that bad.
What was that saying about retrospect again?
or...
Robert and the Z-Team find themselves in a difficult position following Shroud's death. SDN has come under severe ethical scrutiny, and local superhoes are unsure how to address the problems that exist within the systems that be. The solution? Send the people most closely involved with the incident to a press conference. No one is happy about this.

Based on a tumblr post about someone pain-swapping Chronic Pain Robert with someone else. It caught my eye. :3
-
“I can take much more pain than you ever could, bitch!” Prism raised an eyebrow at Flambae as he stomped up to Robert like a child. “I’ve got fuckin’ powers, I’m naturally stronger, faster, and better than you, Mecha-bitch.”
Robert could feel the heat rolling off of Flambae’s body, drying his skin out where it touched him. He doesn’t quit with his rep as he turned, keeping count in his head as his deadpan expression locked onto the fiery superhuman.
“Wanna bet?” Flambae and Prism both perk up a little, Prism pulling her phone out and typing rapidly. Robert swapped the weight and started working on the other arm, ignoring the way his shoulder protested with a straight face.

Summary
After nearly a decade apart, Y/n, a kind and casual reporter, unexpectedly runs into her college ex, Robert Robertson, at a hero bar during karaoke night. Fate intervenes when she lands a position as SDN’s exclusive reporter, putting her in daily contact with Robert and the rest of the Z-Team.
This story is in 2nd person, she/her pronouns are used.

Summary
The thing about plastic chairs is that they weren't a great substitute for an actual bed; the other thing is, Robert can't exactly afford to be picky and even if he 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 the internal debate is still ongoing as to whether or not he deserves a mattress at this current point in his life.
So, the plastic chair stays and is staying for the foreseeable future. Besides, it's charming - in a depressing, minimalism-that-is-totally-not-a-reflection-of-his-inner-sense-of-worth way.
Or:The fic where Robert has chronic pain and Flambae has warm hands. The two of them will figure out what to do about that eventually, right?

Summary
First off, for the record, this whole accident happened because of that bitch Invisislut. It was all her fault. Flambae was simply trying to set one of his many discreet, and completely 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦, fires to gain a few extra points on the leader board (it wasn't because the store owner cheated him out of twelve bucks, fuck you) when she ruined everything.
So what if he was trying to burn-down some shitty store? It wasn't like he was going to kill anyone, but nooooo, Invisigal just had to refuse to do her damn 𝘫𝘰𝘣 and follow Bobberts orders so 𝘩𝘦 had to pick up the slack and get sent to stop some stupid lab from being robbed.
Thus, leading to him getting a life-threatening virus and winding up here. In quarantine, shoulder-to-shoulder with fucking 𝘙𝘰𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘵 𝘙𝘰𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘴𝘰𝘯 of all people because of course the only other person he'd spread this virus to was that little fucking bitch.

Summary
After an incident steals your memories, you're told you've been given a second chance, courtesy of the SDN. As you try to settle into this unfamiliar life, something feels wrong. You know how to fight but don't remember training. Your body bears scars that no one will explain. Faces look at you with fear and contempt and you simply don't understand. With every passing day, you suspect the life they’ve built for you might be a lie. Somewhere between the fog of confusion lies the answer to who you really were—are—and why they don't want you to remember.

Summary
The Phoenix symbolizes renewal, rebirth, and resurrection, emerging from the ashes of its own fiery death to be reborn anew.
This is what Robert Robertson the Third tried to see himself as: A Phoenix. After losing his identity and job as Mecha-Man, he has a chance to reemerge as Dispatcher of the notorious Z-Team, a group of dangerous criminals given a shot at being heroes.
And, while everyone else regards the Z-Team as a dumpster fire, a nuclear bomb just waiting to be set off, Robert sees something else—he sees pain, understanding, and above all, an intent to be better. He sees people who had always drawn the short stick, who bet on losing cards, and who were always regarded as less.
What Robert sees... is a group of Phoenixes.
And he'll be damned if he won't stick by every one of them, regardless of what anyone else thinks.
tldr:
Robert is highly emotionally aware and fiercely protective, refusing to give up on anyone in the Z-team, even when the stakes are high and tension is rising. They're all a bunch of fuckin' idiots, as Chase would say, but they're undoubtedly his idiots, through and through. Blonde Blazer, oddly enough, supports this change of pace. -

Summary
When she was proposed to become a part of the Phoenix Program, she immediately accepts it for a hit of redemption, and she will do anything to have her villiany erased off her records and such.
Even if it means being stuck with a bunch of loose screws, a dispatcher who she knows truly, and probably a lot of HR violations.

Summary
Post good ending where Robbert spared Shroud. We see as he balances work as a dispatcher and life as a hero. His sleep schedule is non existent and he’s been caring less and less on whether or not he gets hurt. How will the z team react to their dispatcher spiraling down to their own self destruction?

Summary
Robert knew it could happen. The damage to his back from the fall was immense, and there was a chance, but he didn't think it would happen. He didn't think his legs would give up on him. He didn't think there might be a way to fix it. He didn't think the team would care. Seems he got a lot wrong. Might as well take the time to find out who he is without the pressure of Mecha Man on his shoulders and the inability to use his legs. Good thing Flambae is willing to carry him until the uphill battle is won.

Summary
Everyone knows that the Mecha Man legacy has been protecting LA for 50 years. First Prime, then Astral, and at last Blue. Shroud, having killed Mecha Man Astral 15 years ago, nearly killed Mecha Man Blue after his release. How the story ends with Mecha Man Blue, Robert Robertson the Third, avenging his father and saving the day with the Z-team.
And in this one, that fated day changed everything. The stories were told wrong, tainted in blood and lies. Shroud never killed Mecha Man Astral, a lie formed by a man he once called his friend. No, that dreaded night ended with all of the Brave Brigade dead save for TrackStar and Shroud. Shroud was arrested for crimes that were never his to begin with, and years later, a villain would rise from the ashes, one known as Optimus. One with a daunting fascination with Mecha Man that would eventually lead to Mecha Man Blue falling 15 years later.
Four months after the explosion, Robert joined SDN as a dispatcher, expecting a semi-normal life until his suit was finished. What he didn’t know at the time was that the new dispatcher, who was released on parole, would be a face that he could never get out of his nightmares.

Summary
He won’t, Robert knows that's not why he's here. If that were the case he would’ve been woken up much earlier. If this conversation was right after he got captured he would definitely be in a lot more pain right now.
The man laughed a bit again, “Well fine, so perceptive, you. I am here to offer you the opportunity of a lifetime.”
Robert stayed silent and neutral, but the man didn’t mind, "Because the Mecha Man has been around for generations without fail in the same impressive suit, we decided that your talents would be wasted in prison, and instead of letting your family's techniques go to waste, you could be rehabilitated.”
He almost sorted, “Rehabilitated?”
Toxin or whatever hummed, “Instead of multiple life sentences, you could use your skills for helping instead of hurting. Isn’t that fun?” He paused, “and eventually, if you’re good we could get you back in your suit again.”
Robert held back a laugh,
Just how desperate were these people?

“Uncle Eli… Why…?”

He never realized how much he would miss that word.
How much he would miss being uncle.Possibilities unfolded like endless branching threads, each one clearer than the last—his enhanced mind processing every outcome with inhuman precision, amplified by the Pulse’s power.
And among them, one stood out with absolute, merciless certainty:
