Her hand on her shoulder feels more intense than she had anticipated. In fact, it seems to overwhelm her other senses. She is, initially, so embarrassed by this that she inadvertently leans away, causing her face to heat up. That—because, of course, it would—actually brings Waffle closer to her.
It takes a second or two of Waffle remaining that close for Violet to realize that it is not accidental. This doesn't make her feel any less embarrassed.
“... Uh. What… are you—?” She manages to mumble before her words naturally trail off.
The other woman says nothing. Her gaze at the side of Violet's face is deafening. She thinks she hears a huff of annoyance before the hand on her shoulder tightens slightly.
